Pupil Premium - Free School Meals vouchers1 April 2020 (by admin) |
Schools can now provide every eligible (Children in receipt of the Pupil Premium Grant) child with a weekly shopping voucher worth £15 to spend at supermarkets while schools are closed due to coronavirus.
We are pleased that the Government has announced a Nationwide scheme to provide parents of children who are in receipt of the Pupil Premium Grant/Free School Meals with a weekly shopping voucher for £15 whilst schools remain closed.
We will need to apply for the voucher for you which you can receive by email as a voucher code, which you can redeem at various supermarkets by showing the code on your phone or tablet. Or you can receive a physical voucher which we will send out in the post.
The vouchers can be spent on food at a range of shops including Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Waitrose and M&S, and the Government is working to get more shops to join the scheme as soon as possible.
We will be telephoning all of the parents of Pupil Premium children over the next couple of days to check their email address or if they would like a voucher in the post.
If you are unsure whether you may now qualify for the Pupil Premium Grant please apply on www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/freeschoolmeals
We will be alerted if you are eligible.
We hope that everyone is safe and well. Take care
