Autumn Term 1, Week 4 - W/c 21.09.26
This week in Science we have been looking at lifecycles, on paper and with our acting skills! In Geography we have been learning about the seas surrounding the UK. In PE we have been working on team building skills and dance. In Maths we have been looking at equal quantities and in English we started our new text ‘How to Make Friends with a Ghost’.
Autumn Term 1, Week 3 - W/c 14.09.26
This week in Geography we have been learning more about Scotland! We built Ben Nevis, Edinburgh Castle and drew Loch Ness. In English we have been using our acting skills to recreate scenes from our text, The Rat and the Stranger, to prepare for our writing. In Maths we have been learning about number placement and regrouping. In Science, we have been dissecting bulbs and exploring the difference between bulbs and seeds.
Autumn Term 1, Week 2 - W/c 07.09.26
The children have settled into Year 2 very well! We began the week with our new topic ‘Our United Kingdom’. The children took part in various activities linked to the 4 countries of the UK such as shortbread making, Lego boat building, Irish dancing and an English tea party. In maths, the children have been busy reviewing days of the week and months of the year. We also started our new English text, The Frog and the Stranger, focusing on simple sentence writing.
