Maths at Holtsmere End Infant and Nursery School 

At Holtsmere End Infant and Nursery School, we provide a high-quality Maths curriculum that builds strong foundations for future learning. Using Hertfordshire’s Essential Maths approach, we deliver a carefully structured and progressive programme that supports all children in developing confidence and fluency in mathematics.

Through the use of practical resources and manipulatives, pupils explore mathematical concepts in a hands-on and meaningful way, helping them to develop a deep understanding of number, calculation, and problem-solving. Our teaching encourages children to explain their thinking, make connections, and apply their skills in a range of contexts.

By the end of Key Stage 1, pupils are confident, resilient mathematicians who are well-prepared for the next stage of their learning.
