RE at Holtsmere End Infant and Nursery School
At Holtsmere End Infant and Nursery School, we strive to nurture curiosity and a sense of wonder about the world and its diverse communities through an engaging, inclusive, and meaningful Religious Education curriculum. Children develop an understanding of different religions and beliefs, exploring special people, places, stories, and celebrations while recognising similarities and differences between faiths.
Through enquiry-based learning, pupils ask questions and explore key themes such as belonging, belief, and values. They learn about a range of religions including Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism, and deepen their understanding through stories, discussions, visits, and celebrations.
As pupils progress, they develop respect, empathy, and an appreciation of diversity, while reflecting on their own beliefs and experiences. By the end of Key Stage 1, children leave Holtsmere End with a growing understanding of the world’s religions and the confidence to explore and respect different viewpoints.
