Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND)

Our vision for SEND

Our vision for SEND is rooted in a culture of inclusion where every child is respected, valued and nurtured, and supported to achieve their full potential through an inspiring and accessible curriculum. We identify needs early through strong partnerships with families, pupil voice, and collaboration with external specialists, including Woodfield, and respond using adaptive teaching, purposeful scaffolding and evidence-based interventions aligned with the EEF 5-a-day principles.

Daily check-ins using Zones of Regulation, protective behaviours, and a consistent therapeutic approach to behaviour ensure pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn. A robust Assess–Plan–Do–Review process, alongside clear communication with parents, ensures provision is continually refined. As an IQM Flagship school, we are committed to developing and sharing inclusive practice so that every child feels a sense of belonging and can thrive.

Recognised for Inclusion

We are proud to be an IQM Flagship School, recognised nationally for outstanding inclusive practice. As a Flagship school, we are committed to sharing best practice, supporting other schools on their inclusion journey, and continuing to evolve our provision to meet the needs of every child. SEN Provision at Holtsmere End Infant and Nursery School

A key part of the SEN Code of Practice is to make it easier for parents and carers to have information about the provision on offer in schools.  Every school has been asked to write and publish information that explains how we identify and meet the needs of children with special educational needs or with disabilities. You can read our SEND report and details of the Local Offer by opening the pdf link below.
